Back in the late 60's early 70's what kind of uniforms, equipment, headgear, etc, etc, etc. Did the Israeli Defense Force use for their tank crewmen.

What kind of CVC helmets did they prefer?

Did they carry personnel weapons like Uzi's or Gailil rifles.

Would the tanks themselves be very American with gear stored and tied down everywhere, or more British and organized.

I plan on building a Shot Kal with crew somewhere on the Golan Heights.

While I'm no expert, here are my own observations:

Late 60's, specifically 1967 - tankers mostly wore WWII US tanker helmets. I have seen US steel pots, and even French helmets as well.
1973 - again, for the most part, US CVC helmets. I drew the ire of a guy earlier this year for pointing out that his 1973 tanker had a later model IDF helmet. But to me, there is "artistic license" and there is just plain inaccurate.
As for gear - quite a bit, and at first appearance just a jumble of gear everywhere. However, if you look at a lot of references, you'll start to notice a tendency to see certain types of gear stowed in the same location. The reasons we do this in the US army are so that you can find your gear in the dark, or so that if you're assigned to a different crew, you still know where the most important articles of kit can be found. I'd highly recommend the M51 stowage set from Legend. (LF1266)
A Shot Kal on the Golan, eh? Very nice choice. I've got tons of references on that. PM me for what you want specifically and I'll see what I can dig up.

On the matter of CVC helmets, would you see the kind used in Vietnam or something a little later.

Or would it be common for crews to have a field cap or beret with a set of headphones, that being a Commonwealth practice for a while before they switched to CVC's like us

The WWII tanker helmets would be easy to dig up but would Shot Kal crews have them?

Additionally photos of the famous 7TH Armored Brigade would be very much appreciated.

If you do a google search for life magazine Sinai war you can find some good photos for that era, color and B&W. Cheers.

Would there be any special insignia on the OD tank crew uniforms for the Israelis.

Like unit patches and rank identification.
