Hi folks,
Some good news for those who like artillery. Just popped over to 'Hot Stuff' on the Resicast site and I see they are developing both the 8 inch howitzer and 60 pdr. Both Mastered by George Moore.
The Holt Tractor is also still shown.
These should be cool.

The Holt will have something to tow anyway !!!!!!

Hi George,
They will be impressive pieces of artillery when you get them finished and a good range of options for the Holt.
Cheers

Hi folks,
A bit of an update courtesy of George and Resicast. Some more developments in the 60pdr. George is modelling the gun as the Mk I version, where the barrel and saddle were winched back for travelling.
Here are some shots of the gun in firing position and travelling position.
There should be a lot of potential for display.
Cheers

Thanks for posting Al.
A recent trip to London was to include a visit to IWM to check out the example they have......only realized at the last minute IWM was closed for a major update....the blurb says "to add extra shops and a new café".....so much for the display !!!!!!!

Hi George,
Yes, it's closed until the 19th July after which time I will make a new visit to checkout what's changed. The gun in towed mode by the tractor will make an impressive site.
This will make another fine addition to the Resicast WW1 range, so thanks for all your hard work in creating more build options for us all.
Cheers

Very nice work George. That 60pdr is a real oddball, like Alan says, very welcome additions.

Hi Steve,
The new guns will be a great addition for those interested in the Great War.
I checked with George and this version will be of the Mk II.
There are lots of reference pics in the Imperial War Museum Archive and quite a few of them being towed by the Holt.
Cheers

Hi George,
Here's some footage of some British 'BIG GUNS' in action, just in case you need a new project

Mmmmm love to do the 9.2". I have drawings and photos.....someone on Landships has done some amazing work with CAD.....trying to get him to get those drawings into a modelling series.....broken down into parts.
I saw the 14" at Larkhill, just before it was shipped over to Holland.
That was big!!
Glad you like the subjects.
Thanks.
George.

Hi George,
The 9.2 inch is a massive gun. At 35/36 ton how did they move it if not on rails?
Maybe next year?

Hi Al,
It was broken down into separate loads, Barrel - Cradle/Saddle - Earth box (to hold it all down) - Wooden planks and Turntable......four to five loads.....impressive.
Have some photos, if you want to email me.

Some interesting footage in this one. About 3.30 mins in a good pic of a Holt towing an 8 inch gun. 8 inch guns in action about 9 mins in and good footage of the camo of the Female Mk I (?).
Lots of other interesting stuff too.
