Hi Gang,

with the most recent rocket attack from Lebanon to Israel, pictures of the IDF artillery positions in northern Israel cave to my mind. Now I wonder if blackdogs M109 interior will suit to an IDF Doher gun, together with Black Dogs Doher conversion.

TIA

Hi Hans Herrmann
I'll mail you later about the interior layout of the Doher, have to check a few references I got some time ago.

Talking about Black Dog conversion kit, keep in mind that it lacks the gun travel lock that is characteristic of the Doher, very much alike the M109A6 one...
If you didn't get the BD set yet, I think that the best way to go -even when I'm not a big fan of them- would be the Legend conversion set.

IDF Dohers do not have the large ammo racks in the rear turret, instead carrying the ammo on the turret side, facing the interior. I found this photo n IDF-Modeling site:

As for the Legend Doher conversion, I reviewed it here on Armorama and it is a great product.

The Legend Doher up-date kit have only exterior details.I build one some month ago, (see my article in Military Modelcraft Internationnal November 2013 issue)

The BD kit comes from the old Goffy Models moulds so it concern only M109A2 version.

The Doher is a M109A2 upgraded to A6 Paladin standard, so the BD kit cannot fit for a Doher inside details.

Do you have any info or pics of the Doher interior?

BTW, I also feel the interior from BlackDog is not old Goffy kit, but I can't seem to find pics of the Goffy set at the moment.

I think Pascal was talking about BD Doher's kit, not the M109 interior one
A number of people found that set let's say "based" on the Goffy Models old one, but with a number of improvements.
The most noticeable down of this set is the lack of the late gun travel lock, as I mentioned before

Hi guys thanks for the replies. It looks like its time for a coverage of IDF M109, perhaps a job for Mr. Manasherob or Mr.
Mass? So far Doher is not yet on my build list, but my PBV 401 (MTLB) is doing good progress. One thing is for sure, Legend conversion is superior AND has the 4 handle folding stretcher.:-))

Yes I'am thinking BD kit is based on old Goffy kits.
No I don't have specific pics from Doher inside details.
