@DazzaD: The Franken-Kingtiger is almost complete, it is quite a looker, pictures will follow later today.
@Jim D: Actually all ten Tiger(P) are well documented, from test machines to Truppenuebungfahrzeuge (troop training vehicles) issued to s.Pz.Abt.503 in the excellent Thomas L. Jentz and Hilary L. Doyle book "Panzerkampfwagen VI P (Sd.Kfz.181) The History of the Porsche Typ 100 and 101 also known as the LEOPARD and TIGER (P)", published by Darlington Productions, Inc in 1999, ISBN 1-892848-03-1

The fabricating (and Zimmeritting) is done. The combination of the so-called Porsche turret and the lengthened chassis of the Jagdtiger has resulted in something that doesn't look bad at all.
The beast is a beauty!
The temporary tracks are from an E-50 from Trumpeter, hopefully she'll receive some metal tracks, maybe even a barrel from RB Models...
And now to the paint booth!

I was just thinking the same thing! The longer hull makes it look much more balanced than a standard KT, and almost like a "low-rider"! Pretty impressive...

This is Frankentiger put together from various bits and pieces, as it would have come out of the workshop, just before receiving its new camouflage coating. Weathering will be rather subtle, as the individual components were cleaned before being taken to the workshop. The gun barrel is brand new, so it is primed in dark grey lacquer with the muzzle break black. The spots where Zimmerit fell off were primed (the paste did not adhere to paint well, so it was applied on bare metal), prior to receiving the new paint. Not sure about the turret numbering... Hand painted or stenciled? The roof of the fighting compartment, a new component, has received its red primer. The beast was painted with the AK 554 "German Late War Colors" set from AK Interactive.
