Hi,
With the likely plethora of T-72 kits being developed and released from Trumpeter, can anyone help and explain the differences, especially between the T-72B1, B2 and B3 please. Its all very confusing and a definitive thread which covers all the differences would be helpful to have.
Thanks
Toby

This is what I know. The T-72B and B1 are identical except for one is equipted with the M9119 Svir (Sniper) system (the B) and one is not (B1). The first T-72B/B1 was the obr. 1984 and the biggest change from the T-72A is the turret which had "Super Dolly Pardon" cheek armor, Anti-radiation cladding, a new gun, three turret bins, smoke grenade discharger and all but the very early ones came with Kontakt-1 armor. The Road wheels went from 8 spokes to 6. The obr. 1989 had the kontakt-1 upgraded to Kontact-5 and the obr. 1990 was the same as the 1989 but had the installation of the wind sensor mast on the roof. There was a obr. 2006 with a new armor package and fire control system as well. Hope that helps some.
