So I gather the French used a lot of (surplus?) US style uniforms while in Indochina in the early 1950's. I've been searching at pictures, but I'm pretty useless regarding the various uniform types/styles, and most everything is in black and white.
Not a lot of figures out there for this time period, so thinking about doing some minor conversions if it wouldn't be too hard. I'd love to use Bravo 6 figures, but I'm looking for more static poses.
What do I need to look for? I figure I can pick up the Bravo 6 set of MAT-49's and grenades. How about helmets, boots, etc?

Hi Jesse
You might want to have a look at U-models as they do some French Indo China figure's. These are some that I'v managed to get.

There is also a Warrior VLS figure
VLS Warriors WA35291 French Foreign Legionnaire Indochina

With Indo China war the French were wearing the US WW2 style of clothing eg: the M43 jacket & trouser plus the Late war Para style of Jumpsuit. Rather than the Vietnam time period uniform. The same with weapons they used a mix of there own & US mostly WW2 .
Hope this helps.
P.s I forgot
Academy also do a set of French Foreign legionnaire's & there are a couple that are suitable for the time period.

plus a set from Verlinden cant find a picture of them.

Thanks Shaun!
Finding the U model figures has been a bit challenging. I'm also not aware of their quality, so am a little skeptical. Same goes for the Academy figures, as they don't look all that great. I did find this pair, which seemed potentially useful.
There's also a Jaguar set:
These guys apparently come with a pair of MAT-49's as well.

1/16th scale.
I'm looking for 1/35th, as it will be matched with my LVT-4 with 40mm bofors.

Hey Jesse, there was a lot of German equipment (small arms) used also. As for the uniforms, the mix and match of U.S. stuff will work well.
