Hi folks,

I've noticed that I am starting to get pop ups on site and that in news articles and texts certain words seem to have been highjacked and linked to various ads. Is this universal for everyone or just specific for me.

I hate these and as I have pop ups blocked can't quite understand why this is happening. The email link above the thread entry has already been highjacked as I type.

Any thoughts as to how to stop these?

Thanks

Al

Alan

This sounds like you have a malware program running. I have had this in the past, it is a plug-in that affects the browser. It is usually a two step process to remove it, first the plugin needs to be disable, then under programs, it has to be uninstalled. Unfortunately at this time, I do not remember the name of the malware.

It frequently piggybacks on Java updates. It is a pain to remove but it can be done. My 15 year old knows how, I don't. I will check with him to see the process if someone else here doesn't post it first.

My computer recently started doing this. It stopped, this morning.

Hi folks,

I got a malware program, STOPzilla that seems to have cured the problem.

Cheers
