Hi guys,
I'm wondering if there's a M1 Abrams available with a dozer blade. What I'd like to do is model "what if " replacements for the M88 ARV and the M728 CEV based on the M1 chassis. I think they would look kinda cool.
If there's no dozer version available, I suppose I could convert a mine-plow version.
TIA
Chuck

Sounds like you're talking about the Grizzly and the M88A2 Hercules. An M1 chassisied recovery vehicle was developed, but it was decided to go with an upgraded M88 variant. I remember seeing the M1 based recovery vehicle during REFORGER 88 while I was in Germany.

There used to be photos of the M1 ARV at GDLS (General Dynamics Land Systems) web site. My brother works for GDLS, however, he is currently on active duty, in Hawaii , for NOBLE EAGLE/ENDURRING FREEDOM. He had previously sent a bunch GDLS propaganda. I'll look thru it this weekend.

We have something in common then Sabot. Prio to our FTE "Free-Lion" we also were involved in Reforger 88. Bad memories to that one.... A Challenger ran over my foxhole during that excercise. Had to clean the pants a bit I guess...
