This kit was just going to be a quick, ootb weathering testbed but the combination of a full KT turret interior and David Parker's 1/16th superking was a HUGE inspiration in getting this far with the cheapo HB 4501 from Squadron on sale for about $25.
The pics are from the phone, but taken in the lightbox, hard to see it from here but there are probably close to 150 pieces in the turret basket and gun, another 30+ inside the turret shell. Not counting ammo.
Newest bits still need some weathering and then some filters and dullcoat to tie it all together, but nearly done.
Give the boys at HB some credit, it all fits. It could have been an unbuildable mess, but it all goes together AND fits inside the turret shell.
Here is the 'not a well man part' there in the bottom center, those two white bits, G23 and H7.. Sneaky lil bastidges hid out in plain sight until the whole of the innards were assembled and painted. And completely COVERED with that L-shaped guard above. Could I leave well enough alone.. oh hells no!
Still have to go back and paint them, but I'm done for the day.
