In early 1942 the Germans started converting the Pz IV F to the longer L/43 gun ( Pz IV F2 ) . So I " think " a D would have been up gunned as well if it was still around . Where do you think all those L/24 75mm guns came from that were mounted on the 251/9 half track and the 233 & 234/3 eight wheeled armoured cars ? A couple of up gunned L/48 Ds were found in Normandy , probably taken to the front from a tank driver school to help turn back the invasion .

Dragon Models makes a version of the IV D upgunned and with turret skirts only. The instructions for this model show these tanks were found in Italy and on the Russian Front.
Be well.
