Hi Pedro;
STUNNING !
The Color Modulation really makes this JS-3 Stand Out,
are you still thinking about a Diorama. IMHO your kit is in a category that is Stand Alone Quality, and needs nothing else. O.K. maybe in a Vacant Field just by itself, and nothing else.
CHEERS; MIKE.

Hi Mike,
Thank you for your kind words!
I wouldn't call it a diorama, I have a 14cm x 29cm simple picture frame I could use. As the tank itself is some 9,5cm x 27cm incl. gun, it does not leave too much space for building a dio around it, on the other hand the margin is enough to put some scenic elemnts around. I wouldn't want to do a dio anyway, not to get tied to this project for another half year
By linking to the photos in the previous page, I was thinking about just taking some elements from one, like a dusty village road, some grass on the edges, piece of wooden fence and the "КРП" sign, the guy in the chemical suit and with geiger counter would be optional
Cheers,
Greg

C'est fini! I present to you "IS-3 Fallout", a girl that's been goin' places!
I'm not 100% happy with how dusting turned out, dulled the paintjob a tad too much IMO. My wife likes it though
Cheers,
Greg

The weathering blends together the different green shades very well!
Best regards,

I love how it turned out. Excellent painting and weathering. I'm not familiar with Soviet NBC protection, but wouldn't the commander have some sort of NBC resistant gloves on?

Thank you very much for your kind words Andreas and Paweł!
William, go for it, I'm glad my model could inspire you to look at older soviet Tanks, they're really interesting designs. One thing that struck me is that the IS 2 and 3 are actually smaller than the western MBTs of that time like Centurion and Patton series tanks.
Thanks Erik, I'm not familiar either, I just hink they were not issued any NBC resistant stuff, like the guys in the first photo on theis page: http://sovieteramuseum.com/?p=1555. Back then it seems protecting their own soldiers the right way was not a priority even if it was just excercise...
Cheers,
Greg

Thanks Jeff!
Yeah the JS tanks are good looking beasts. It's a pitty that the JS-3 does not get as much love as other types, probably because of its rare use in actual combat.
Cheers,
Greg

Hello Mike,
Thanks for chiming in, your info is very interesting!
I'm guessing that Jaguar does not operate anymore, as in any of my google querries I made while researching different details regarding IS-3 and IS-3M I haven't found any mention of the set. Do you know of any build completed with the aforementioned set?
Cheers,
Greg
Excellent build! And the figure really sets it off.
And yes, I know it's an old post, but so what? Grzegorz is still active here.
To answer your question, yes, I built the corrected Jaguar version, and the quality of the castings was superb. I also built their M551, and while the castings were again of high quality, the overall dimensions of the kit were a disappointment. You won't find many resin builds of any particular kit. Most folks seem to have an aversion to them for some reason, and would rather wait for an injection molded kit.
