I am currently building tamiya's M2 Bradley and next hope to do maybe the m1a1 abrams. I don't know what color I should paint the vents/mesh. Should I do it in flat black or semi gloss?

Gary,
Do you mean the mesh itself or the areas "underneath"? If you
mean the mesh then it would be the same overall color of the rest of the vehicle.

I believe it depends on the deployment. Correct colors aside, I applied a wash over the top coat to pick out the slats. Sprayed some MM exhaust, then reapplied the top coat. Unless you are going for factory fresh, you have some leeway as to the specific color AFAIK.
