The Postman just left my "new" Tiger with Zimmerit #6700. I was disappointed at my first look inside the box. For the most part it seems to be a recycled version of their outstanding earlier Tiger kits but without all the nice extra PE that the earlier tanks had. I think PE is cheap especially if you have already done the work on it before. The zim seems to be understated on the hull. About right on the turret IMHO. Question ? Should there be 2 different sizes of ridges/ grooves between the hull & turret ?
Anyway, I'm sure it will build up nice if I pay CLOSE attention to the instructions and don't botch the paint job.
I guess that I am whining because at $65 there were none of the goodies that the earlier kits (IE#6406) had.
Have a nice weekend all
Tom

Not an expert at it, but I would think the zim patterns on the hull and turret would be the same.
Shame they ditched the PE. You're right in that it wouldn't have added that much to Dragon's cost for the kit.

Tom,
Where did you get it for $65? I deal with someone who has it for $51.69.

Yes, the 2 different pattern of Zimmerit for turret and hull are correct for the mid production. Especially when you build the "6" from the 506th which is on the cover.
However, the Zimmerit on hull indeed could be deeper. Thankfully the old hull plates without Zimmerit are also included, i will make the coating with putty on hull.

Thanks Evgenij ! One less thing to whine about ! Mike & Tony thanks for giving me 2 new things to whine about. I bought mine from Dragon's web site along with the MBT70 that seems to have disappeared. The Email I got said it was back ordered with a 3 to 4 months wait. The $64.95 probably reflects shipping because I no longer got the free shipping with a $100 order. Although, I can not find a shipping charge on the invoice.
Anyway, Mike you are almost a neighbor up in West Bend. Where did you get yours ?
