Hi,
Does anyone know what we're the markings on the top and bottom of the US WW2 10 in 1 ration boxes? All the reference I can find so far only show the sides.
Cheers,
Sonny

Check out the website for Modeling the U.S. Army in WWII. They have a picture of different types of 1/35 ration boxes. I think the 10-1 do have writing on the bottoms. He recommends the U.S. Army Quartermaster Museum website.

Thanks for the link. I've looked at this site before and it's not quite conclusive.
The best reference being the Hudson and Allen item but it's not big enough to see what it really says.

Hard to say, based on the proportion looks like one of the side panels.
Thanks though

I realized that I have a Verlinden set to make C Rations boxes including 10 in1s and they don't have anything printed on the top or bottom

I guess I've found something that may help. Just check out pages 21-26 of this PDF document (C.Q.D. N°140B) :

I'll try to contact the qm museum. Thanks.

Thanks also for PDF Frenchy, it's quite informative, unfortunately it does not make any mention of the top or bottom of the sleeve. The info is pretty good though and matches the info on the modelling the US army in WW2 site.

Jowady, according to the is army models site, the bigger of the verlinden ration box is Vietnam era while the smaller has an inaccurate configuration and markings as well as lacking a sleeve.

Apparently the Hudson and Allen product is spot on, but I can't get it here in Singapore.
