I am curious which colour you all use as the wash colour on your Buff/Tan/Beige basecoat. I usually do dark grey washes on my military vehicles because the basecoat is usually dark green with other greens as Camo. I am in the process of building Kirin's Iraqi T-72 and I don't know what colour to use as a wash? I was thinking of going with either mid grey or dark brown.

I'm making the SAS Jeep and will use a field drab/light OD green colored wash.

100% What Anthony says burnt umber as a wash, the greys and yellow tones are ok for filters/Tints on buff, tans, yellows etc.

There is no "correct" color. Depends totally on what effect you're trying to achieve.

Sepia or burnt umber should work to pop out detail. If you want an overall dust effect, that color is determined by the terrain you're depicting.

For the overall wash, burnt umber.
