Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a particular figure for a diorama idea. I'd like a German soldier figure in 1/35th which would fit in with a Normandy setting, mounted, but wounded and slumped over the front of his horse, or sitting slumped in the saddle.

My diorama idea is to have a ad hoc straggler unit of SS and regular Panzer Grenadiers sitting with a couple of vehicles (RSO w/75mm and a towed 75mm gun covering the road ahead, and a tractor) at the side of a road in Normandy, whilst in the opposite direction a unit of infantry retreat in the other direction, with wounded and British paratrooper prisoners and giving ammunition and weapons to the Pzgrens.

The idea was that the some of the retreating unit would be horse drawn or mounted, with the officer sitting in or standing next to his Kubel.

I think the figure I described at the lingering at the rear of the column would go down nicely and fit the scene, is any one aware of a similar figure in production?

Since I can't think of a particular kit that fits your description, I would start with one of Dragon's mounted Germans sets with the lower torso of the rider, and go through the spares to look for a suitable upper torso and arms that fit the pose you want.

Yeah that's a pretty specific pose. Any of the horse mounted figures I can think of are sitting upright in their saddles. In would follow Biggles suggestion.

I shall have to raid the spares and hope I find something. I'm surprised, I'd have thought that someone would have make a worn out or wounded rider.

Thanks for the advice guys

For the slumped attitude of the rider, try an upper torso from a seated figure. They usually have a more angled cut at the waist.

maybe buy these 2 kits & bash them. Use the lower leg torso & german guy slumped over holding his chest in 2nd kit.
Just a thought.
I have both of these kits, both are good.

Yeah, I was thinking along those lines, too. The ICM figures have the right upper body poses, but they have Panzer uniforms. You will have to do some conversion work on their jackets. Dragon has a couple of wounded infantry figures - one in the Aachen set, and a walking wounded in another set with medical corps (both older figure sets, and probably OOP). Master Box has a set, or sets, with wounded German inf., and MiniArt has a set of seated and reclining German vehicle riders whose upper torsos are leaning forward slightly, and might work.
