Nice review, Darren. Too bad about the lack of engine. This should prove useful in a large number of applications.

I remember while in the sandbox, we seen a VIED and it had 5 122mm shells in it. Leaves a nice lump in your throat, if you ask me. Funny how Diopark knows to add 5 shells.. He he he...

While labeled a 1970s car the production period was 1975 to 1985. So it would fit any European setting well into 1990 as a "new" or almost new car. Build as a tank

Seems to me that anyone doing a diorama of an American kaserne in Germany anytime from the mid-70's to the late-80's needs at least one of these, in that weird putty color with a 'Taxi' sign on top. I rode many of these (and their station wagon brothers) in my time in Augsburg - they're truly ubiquitous.

The color is

Hellelfenbein (RAL 1015) rough translation: Bright/Light Ivory

and for a long time it was the only one allowed. Before that it was black. Even today most taxis are in that color also some german states allow others now

Thanks a lot for the great review Darren, this release and the forthcoming Takom "German Car" are IMO great additions for all diorama builders as there are endless options. I wonder how nobody decided to produce something like this until now.

Greqt review. I am currently working on thia. The only major querk I find so far is that the tires are made of some kind ofceeird plastic. Why then hell would they do something like this? They have just ruin the kit by not adding rubber tires especially knowing that the price of this kit has a high retail value, they woukd at least add rubbre tires.

I got to the part of the wipers and I can only say, I had to dump them completely- Just getting them of the sprue was a challenge without damaging them. Well. I damaged them regardless. Why do they( even other manufaturers have this isue as well) insist on having the wipers connected via the wipers itself? Why not at the base? It just pisses me off.
