Thanks Gino,
Yeah the wheel was a shortcut to replicating the one below. At first I thought it was brown but I guess it's a yellow one but with a far bit of hub oil leakage.
Odd roadwheel
As an aside I've found quite a few pics of late Abrams with a lot of odd green replacement parts, gun barrel components, - tube sections and extractors, top mantlet covers along with the usual fenders and wheels.
And a question on the front fenders, are they some sort of ABS or are they sheet metal?
cheers
Brent

I agree, but it looks like a green wheel (look at the front face of the rim) with a leaky hub which dirt has accumulated on.
Replacement parts can be ordered in both sand and green. However, the depot will send which ever they have, not necessarily the color you order. This allows vehicles to be repaired more quickly as opposed to waiting on a sand colored part to be backordered. A can of sand spray paint can fix the color issue.
The front fenders are also sheet metal. They can very easily get torn up pretty badly.

Yeah I can see the green base on that wheel now.
For some reason after looking at a few pics of front fenders that have obviously been re-sprayed sand after replacement, they looked black underneath where the paint has worn off, so I thought they might be a sort of rubberised ABS or something. Metal with a forest green base, good to know thnx.
cheers
