hi guys. i need to clear some things up about german armor colors.
i know that the germans used panzer grey from 1939 to febuary 1943.
and from 43 they used the dark yellow,
ok now this is what i need to know .
did they repaint all there tanks they had on the battle field from the grey to the drak yellow.
or did they leave it the grey and they painted just the new stuff the dark yellow.
thanks guys

Hi Tazz,

Yes. They painted ALL new produced vehicles (after march1943) in dark yellow.
For the rest of already dark grey painted vehicles, they tried to paint'em in yellow but not all of them, so they lived'em as they are.
That means u can see some "wespe"s and/or "marders" painted dark grey or dark yellow,
but not a Pzkfw IV G,H,J etc.. or a Tiger or a Tiger II painted in dark grey after 1943.
What vehicle do u ask precisely ?

Since the Wespe Sd Kfz 124 did make it's debut in Kursk 1943, it came under accordance of the dunkelgelb order in Feb.1943. There would have been very few fielded in dunkelgrau.
