Would this barrel work to replace the resin barrel in the LEgends T-54 1949 conversion? http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=RB-35B62

Mine was ridiculously warped and I cannot get it straight. I did contact Legends but haven't yet heard back. Looking for a backup should that not work. Thanks!

Hi Jason;

Yes that should work just fine, some of the others are; Model Point, Barrel Depot. And there are a few others.

Thanks Mike. It seemed like the only ones listed specifically for the T-54 have the fume extractor. I wasn't sure if the Su-100 was the same. I think I will buy this anyway- the resin one doesn't have the rifling anyway.

Jason, don't order the barrel. I have the very same barrel in my stash, was going to use it for the T-54-3 that I'm building right now. The barrel is too narrow to fit the mantle. There's a major gap between the barrel and opening in the mantle.

I'm going to try and graph on the taper part from the legend kit onto the RB barrel to see if that can fix the issue. Just hoping I can match the two halves up just right.

Now Jordi Rubio makes the early D-10T barrel for the T-54 for sell on evilbay, but not sure if it's going to fit the mantle right.

Hi Jason;

Be aware, the Rubio Barrel does Not have the Rifled Bore.
The RB Barrel should be just fine, and if its not it should be easy too adapt too your Mantlet ! The Barrel with the Fume Extractor at the end is the D-10t as used in the T-55, the D-10 would be correct with the T-54 & SU-100.
Now also note that early D-10s had a Small Counter Weight at the very end of the barrel, check your references on which variant that you want too Depict.

Thanks for the info guys. I was thinking about the RB one and wondering if you could shim it, then use a little putty or apoxie sculpt to blend the mantlet into the barrel. Legend just contacted me, so I will definitely have the resin option. Thanks for the info on the jordio barrel- no point in getting that if it lacks the rifling.

I love their stuff. Apparently the fit is the issue.

I have had no fit issues up to now. I have used them on Tamiya, Hobby boss, Dragon, Trumpeter and Academy and like I said they have all gone well.
