In US service there was camouflage used of black paint over the OD. Squadron Signal has a book on US WW2 camouflage that is quite good for this. According to the excellent Warpaint book on British camouflage thier schemes had been retired by Normandy. This does always leave daubed mud and whitewash of course.

Try the numerous WoT forums. (forgive me for recommending another forum). They are fairly accurate and provide a wealth of information.

The only camo US vehicles I know of from Europe were during Operation Cobra, Normandy Breakout, in late July '45. Braod stripes of black paint were sprayed on US vehicles to provide some camo against the Normandy hedgerows.
Actual vehicle.
Color plate showing it a little better.

Hi David,
the British armour in Italy used a lot of camouflage patterns, some had come over from North Africa.
If you send me your email I will send some stuff to you in the coming week.

In Italy there was broader use of camo. Particularly the tanks of the 752nd tank batallion used sand and earth red over the od paint, sometimes with some white. There was a web site dedicated to the unit but it is currently down. These photos were found elsewhere.

During the winter of 1944-45 12th Army Group issued instructions that vehicles that were being whitewashed should leave some patches of OD. Black and OD could be seen in NWE through VE Day. As has been pointed out various shades if brown and OD were not unknown on American tanks in Italy.
British Fireflies often had parts of the long barrels for their 17 pounders painted white to reduce the recognition of their guns. In Italy Commonwealth vehicles had also sometimes worn camouflage however in late 1944 at least some units were instructed to repaint their vehicles in a British color that approximated US OD. I think much of this had to do with Allied Air Superiority. 5th and 8th Armies were going for a uniform appearance of their vehicles that would hopefully be apparent from the sky .

You can take a look here for some Sherman camo schemes (including a few seen in Italy). I can't vouch for their accuracy though... :

Here's a small view of the official British/ Commonwealth pattern for Shermans as used in the Mediteranean:
Colors should be blue back over light mud.
Sheik, a british Sherman:

The Americans used sand over OD in Sicily:

They used black over OD on mainland Italy.
Hope that helps.

Correction,
The Sherman camo drawing I posted is for a british vehicle in North Africa:
http://www.network54.com/Forum/47208/thread/1324931647/Crusader+III+camo-
The british pattern for the mediteranean is similar.
The booklet "Sicily and Italy 1943-45" has official patterns for different vehicles:
