A question for you all. What was the standard gun tractor/ truck for the M1/ M1A1 155mm howitzer? Thanks for your help and any pictures you can find.

Hallo Henri-Pierre,
Maybe by coincedence, but you showed a rather less often photographed black arti crew.
As a statement it would be great if one of the model cies would bring this item, since many afro-americans served and did wonderfull and honorable things.
Too few of them are seen in our modeling world.
Not to mention the African and Asian teams and crews.
maybe, with some effort, we could convince one of them.
I put my card on eitehr MiniArt of MB.

Hi Paul
It's only a coincidence It's just one of the only two related pics I have found (this other one is a Korean War photo). Maybe they belonged to the 333th or the 969th Field Artillery Battalions (AFAIK both units were equipped with M1 howitzers)
EDIT : just found this caption on another website : "American troops being evacuated pass other American units moving up for the defence of Bastogne. Heavy artillery was evacuated from Bastogne whilst half tracks and tanks moved forward. Ardennes Offensive"

Maybe worth a campaign to high light the non-caucasian troops in WW2?

Well you could replace the heads on any other figures with suitable examples (such as Hornet makes). I plan to do that for my French colonial 105mm artillery crew at Dien Bien Phu, as those lucky blokes were originally from Senegal.
Of course I have a few other things to finish first... much like yourself, I suspect Mr Roberts
