Gentlemen,
I'm looking for pictures/drawings etc. for the M-47 turret basket good enough to use as a reference for scratch building.
Thank you for any help you may provide.

If you can borrow a copy of Hunnicutt's "Patton" through inter-library exchange, that'd be very useful too. Go to your local municipal library and see how it can be done for you. Lots of nice coverage in that famous book

There are a few soft covers out there Vanguard, Osprey, and Squadron. Can't attest how good they are , but based on prior experience with these lines you should find what you are looking for. The Hunnicutt sells for $300 or so. Imagine it would take a while to find one at a library then have it swapped. There is also a site called Patton Mania that has a lot of pix. I am doing an M48a1 conversion and it had enough pix for me to work back end.

If you go to "Bookfinder.com" , right now there is one for sale at Blackwells in the UK for $100 plus shipping from the UK.
On the other end of the spectrum, some idiot bookshop in Italy wants $1400 for it...
Similarly there is a copy of "Stuart" available for $225 in the US and some wag in France thinks he can get $1500 for it.
Shop around and you can frequently get a deal, relatively speaking.

You're certainly welcome to my M47 walkaround. It does not include measurements, but it does have nice detail close ups as well as good shots of the different turret textures found on it

Inter Library loan is a viable option. Before I got my own copy of "Stuart" (for $35 plus shipping after a year's checking on bookfinder.com), I was able to borrow a copy for 4 weeks that had been shipped from CT to my home library in Michigan. From the time I requested it, I think it took 3 weeks. I'd imagine "Patton" is easier to find than "Stuart"

Robert,
Thank you for your kind offer. Yes, if it's not too much trouble I would like your M47 pics.
Thanks again,
P.N.

Thank you Gentlemen. I think I'll try my local library and see if they can help.

I'd second Roys' suggestion of inter library loan as a usefull option. I requested Hunnicuts "Patton" and suprisingly it travelled all the way from Yuma Proving Grounds library to my local township library here in PA in only about 3 weeks.

I have a PDF of the Hunnicut book but when I uploaded it and offered it out to everyone here I got some hate mail regarding copyright.
I figured that it's been out of print long enough that the author isn't getting anything for resales of the used books so it's not like I was taking food out of Mr Hunnicuts mouth.
I can find the file and offer it up if anyone would like, but we need to keep it on the down low between "friends".
