Hello all,
I am painting my 1/35 scale Tamiya Steyr 1500/A Truck (Kit#35225).
The instructions recommend Tamiya XF-49 (Khaki) for the canvas top and seats.
Does anyone have information as to what color they actually were?
Additionally, what color should I paint the jack? The instructions indicate Tamiya XF-56 (Metallic Gray).
Thanks.
Matt

Most likely, those seats were leather - so a dark leathery brown would be a good base, I think. They could have been black leather...
Satin-finish and some worn brown spots on a black leather would look good for a used seat.
that all said, I've also used khaki brown and done some very dark oil washes over that to maybe get a
"well-worn and very dirty / worked-in dust" seat.
As these seats were exposed to the weather and a lot of use, they probably lost their original shiny black leather look pretty fast.
