Not me - I've experienced terrible results from attempting to do that. Strictly airbrushing for me...

I don't recommend it BUT I have had some success with Xtracolor Matt Varnish, it looks like soup, but thins down beautifully...Lovely stuff...Jim

This is a VERY tricky thing to do... if one layer is thicker than the other, you will find a "white build up"... rather than risk it, I suggest you purchase an inexpensive "spray can" of ModelMaster #1960 Flat... it costs around $3-4 and can cover several models.

I have had good luck with Model Masters flat clear coat. It will come out smooth if you use a flat fine brush. But spraying is still the best route.

I have triedhand brushing the MM dullcoat in the bottle and it didn't work at all. It wouldn't go on even and I ended up with a thick cloudy coat that looked horrible. Have since switched to the dullcoat in a can from Testors and it has worked like a charm and I would never go back to handbrushing the stuff out of the bottle.

YOu have to brush it on so thin that it will dry instantly or it will not work. This is critical. Very little on brush. I had this problem months ago and someone here told me this. IT works but very tricky. I now spray it.
