Greetings all,
I'm going to be starting work on a Tamiya Jeep and the SAS Jeep conversion set from Legend. I've found several good sites for information on these vehicles but here's my problem. The instruction sheet that comes with the conversion set is a photocopied set of photographs. The quality of the pictures isn't very good.
I was wondering if anyone out there has used this conversion set before? And if so, would you be able to help me out? Most items are big enough that I can guess what's going on with them. But I'm unclear about what's happening around the various weapons and on the dashboard.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Craig

I have the same kit. Instruction are just like yours. I haven't started so I cannot help too much. One good thing about SAS Jeep building is that you can do whatever you want practically, as in real life there were not 2 of them that were identical.

The real problems with the Legend kit is that those Vickers are not usable. I also have the Calibre35 one, which comes with 5 nice ones, and as I won't use all of them on one vehicles(I plan to make 2), it is not a problem for me.

There should be a good article about building a SAS Jeep in the past issue of MMiR. if you want to see it I can scan it for you. Also there should be some article on Missing-lynx.

Thanks for the help guys.
I've been looking off and on for awhile now for info and I searched again yesterday and found this site:
http://tanxheaven.com/sasjeep/sasjeeppic.htm
It had lots of good detail shots of what I'm looking for and may answer most of my questions.
Yorkie, why aren't the Vickers useable? Are they too delicate? Either way, I do have an old set of injection molded ones that I got years ago that look great and I can always use those
Thanks for the offer on the article but I was lucky enough to buy that one when it came out.
Thanks again guys,
Craig

The muzzle on those Vickers are not slant like they should be. Probably you can cut or sand them to the right shape after you drill the opening. But they are already a bit short, so I think get some replacements will be better. Other than that the kit is quite good.

You could check their web page: www.finescale.com
