I've been painting the small figures (1:35) for 6 months. This is my last work - Michael Wittmann from Alpine Miniature. I am still working on it. The result is pretty ok for me (at least) but I wish I could paint it better next time.
With kind regrads,

If this is what you do after 6 months of figure painting then I am very curious what we can expect from you in 2 years time.
This is really good work. Looking forward to the rest of the figure.

I think you can be proud of your efforts. That is very good and I tend to be quite picky.
I particularly like the eyes.
Alpine has some really great figures. I'm not usually a WWWII modeler, but if Taesung Arms releases a Kurt Knispel figure I will buy it for sure.
All the best,

Thank you very much for your high appreciation. I have more than 10 figures from Alpine and much more from Dragon, I wish I could have enough time to paint all of them.

I think you should consider doing a face painting tutorial.
I believe many of us (including me) feel it would be useful and could learn a lot from you.

To be honest, I have nothing special to share with you about my painting technique at the moment. I have little general painting skill at the first place, then I was inspired by great miniature artists like Calvin Tan, Kim Jin Kim and oliver Kovacs. I highly recommend the tuorial by Cavin Tan http://zyclyon-tutorials.blogspot.sg/2009/03/painting-head-by-calvin-tan-head-is.html and the Figure panting tutorial DVD by MXpression.
Any way, I will post my own tutorial when the time is right.
Hope you will find it helpful.

Thank you! I think it will be very useful.
He uses a technic I'm not used at all: black undercoat and seemingly a dry brush of lighter tones.
Going to study thins.
