Hello all

First post here, sorry if it has been covered before. Not familiar with the search features here yet. I'm wondering what is the best set of replacement road wheels is for the 1/35 AFV Club Stryker kit? I see several options available when I look it up on google and E-bay, but not much in the way of reviews. Any help would be appreciated.

Aaron,

I was only able to find this for DEF Model's Stryker wheels:
http://www.arcarm.com/Rev1/101-200/rev184-DEF-Model-DW35010/00.shtm

However, if DEF's wheels aren't for you, Real Model has a set. Couldn't find a review, but there are some pictures of the wheels in the "In progress" and "Gallery" section.
http://realmodel.cz/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=garden_flypage.tpl&product_id=332&category_id=19&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=79

Hope that helps you a little bit.

You should go over to Perth Military and check out the reviews on all things Stryker. Reviews on kits, accessories, wheels, etc. Don M.

DEF models very nice, a tad pricey and have masks. Als they have the tire logo in 4 different places, so they look more natural

ET Models are very nice, less expensive as above and also vary the logo position. No masks, though

Something to consider is that some manufacturers choose to put the bulging part of the tire in different places, i.e. you get two or three versions of the wheel so that you don't get too much symmetry in the positioning (and position of the manufacturers logo). Others will supply you with the same wheel throughout.

Just a minor detail, I tend to try and buy the ones that vary the position of the bulge so that the manufacturers logo is not in the same position on every wheel. This is particularly noticeable on these vehicles with so many wheels.

Cheers,
Sven

I could see wanting to replace the Trumpeter Stryker wheels, but the AFV kit ones are pretty nice as is.

The big concern I have with the kit wheels is removing the seams...It scares me! So, that is the main reason I was interested in resin wheels...Work is already done for me. I can see why you bring up that point though...It seems that most resin wheels that I have seen are based off of the AVF wheels.
