Hi guys,
I plan to build a Grenadian BRDM-2 from Operation Urgent Fury.
I wonder how big the differences between Trumpeters "early" and "late" are.
TIA

Hi H.H.,
it looks like the main difference is the style of engine deck ventilation covers. Later type here http://panzer35.ru/forum/48-12866-1

and earlier type here http://panzer35.ru/forum/46-10544-1

Although these drawing are good for pointing out the most obvious difference bewtween the early and late, don't use them for anything else as they have a major problem. The overhead hatches are not evenly placed as depicted but infact the right hand side hatch sits further aft then the left side hatch. Another major change in the late version was the ability of the main gun to elevate to 60 degrees. So the turret was slightly different as well.

I don't think those are storage lockers (although you could probably store stuff in there) but are in fact access panels to the fuel tanks for ease of removal/installation. If you look at the pic higher up you will notice that the panles do not have latches for opening/closing but are fastened by bolts. Not very handy for storage. Here is another pic from Prime Portal:

You are right though that this is another late feature.
