Hi Roger - I found the AK info to be pretty helpful. It's not comprehensive, but it can keep you to get headed in the right direction. I also used the parts you noted - they're good too. As for more references, there are several builds posted here on Armorama, and if you keep looking you'll find a thread focusing on the MATV, with many helpful pics.
The Panda kit is a bit of a challenge - mostly due to the need to do a fair amount of cutting/filing etc to get some of the parts to go together - particularly on the suspension. All of that said, I liked building it and the results. If you go to the dio section here on Armorama and look for "1/35 truck fabrication shop" you can see how I tackled a couple of them. Again, look at some of the other builds too - there are some really strong builds posted - and many WIP photos.
Have fun with it!
Cheers
Nick

Hi Roger - sorry to repost - but, I just saw Robert and i were posting about the same time - I didn't know he had the MATV series too - I do now, as I just got in touch with him and ordered some images(!) -
I mention this, because I'll tell you, his info is very good! (I've ordered other info before). You might seriously consider checking it out -
Cheers
