I have been thinking of buying some of the SP-Designs conversions so I wonder if he is still active or if the "out of stock" shown in many web-shops is final ...

They're still readily available in the US at http://saammodels.tripod.com/. Jacques runs the website and has close contact with the gentlemen in Ukraine who casts their stuff, I'm sure he'll chime in.

Yup, he is still up. Many of the small stores that carry his stuff are only renewing stock on a as needed basis as sales have slowed on conversions because of all the new Trumpeter and Hobby Boss kits. Saammodels.tripod.com is where you can start.
