Hi all,
Maybe a long shot, but might anyone have information on the machining fixture shown in this thread about half way down the page ? http://www.tank-net.com/forums/index.php?s=cc1f91edb68a58650b2acd4f9b661e8f&showtopic=33581&page=2

It seems that it may be at least somewhat standardized as a something similar is shown in Squadrons' old abrams book.

been inside that plant several times, but only once in the turret build area. Even then the fellow that took the boss and I around emphatically stated "no cameras!" Still the photos didn't show a lot. Basically roughing operations. I'd be expecting visitors asking a lot of pointed questions.

There was a documantary aired on German TV about refurbishing M1 A1 MBT at Lima, OH. Not sure if it was from Discovery or History Channel. This documatary might give you some insight how a tank manufacturing plant looks inside.

It was National Geographic Megafactories; the link I had on Youtube was taken down but here's something similar (maybe same-I haven't watched it all) called 'ultimate factories':

Hi Sean

I can't help you with the rig, but while you're at it, maybe you could also consider building some of the heavy-duty dollies used with other parts of the Abrams like the hull :

Frenchy,
I hoped you'd come through for me! Thanks for the excellent links. I actually have a roughed out Abrams hull already started to be put on a similar dolly and my request for the turret fixture was to have something interesting to do with the turret from that donor kit.
