I went into my local hobby store, Victorian Hobby Centre here in Melbourne, Australia today and got myself 2 of the new Trumpeter ASLAV PC kits.
I have to say, from what I have seen so far it is a vast improvement on the previous ASLAV kit. It does have a couple of mistakes from what I have seen, but nothing that cannot be fixed if you have the right referance.
Pros - The Footman loops are PE
The Periscopes are seperate and the lens is slightly recessed, not like the original ones.
The RWS is as good as the AFV club one, however I will be using a Tasca M2 (need the QCB handle).
Aus pattern jerry cans are well represented.
Cons - the same incorrect engine deck and Trumpeter has placed 2 large grab handles on the side of the PC that are in reality 2 individual footman loops.
That is what I have noticed so far. I am planning on doing one as a OOB and the other using Jason Millers fantastic resin upgrades (weighted tyres + spare, footman loops, Duke, CES) in addition to some Mouse House parts, along with various other nick nacks (aireals, spent brass, rachet straps)
I spoke to Jason recently and I am looking forward to his professional assessment of the kit in the review he is doing for Armorama.
The kit has the 2 decal options only. 'COOK THE MAN SOME EGGS', which should be SUM, as the real PC with those markings has, and the second option is A Sqn, 2/14 Lighthorse (QMI). Out of respect for Sam Dwyer, I will be doing the markings for another ASLAV PC, not listed in the instructions.
As soon as I make some progress I will try to get some pics up. Between a newborn, fulltime work and part time study my time in the Mancave is somewhat limited, but I will try my best.
Happy Modelling to all.
Shot Out.

Thank you for the feedback on the kit. I keep seeing it on sale at various sites and I am tempted to pick it up.

G'day Guy's,
I am currently checking out the kit and writing the review. I'll leave it at that for now.
Tony, thanks for the kid words mate.
Not sure if your aware, but Mouse House has a couple of PC decals sheets.
I did the art work for them, and my favorite one is a "B" SQN 2/14 car. "BETTER THAN A" and on the others side "BETTER THAN C". Gold! I spoke to the driver, and he said that he had to respray the name every week, as the other Sqn's would paint it out on him.
Anyway, time for a nap. Got man flue.
Cheers Jason
