Hi,
This is my latest model Panther D with zimmerit coating. Figures are plastic and resin. Lots of scratch and metal parts are used. Weathered with acrylics and enamels. The model is not glued on the base, so the figures.
I hope you enjoy the photos.
Thank you,
Muzaffer

Hi Musaffer
Excellent build! Especially the weathering looks really realistic.

The branches are a great addition. How did you make them?

Thanks all.
The branches are from Joefix Studio's, they are natural twigs.

Very cool build!
I love just about all of it - great paint scheme, nice weathering, nice junk and stuff on-board - just an all-round nice job and be proud of it!
Is this from that Dragon Panther D w/zimm kit?
That is on my to-do list, and perhaps done up as one of these befehlspanthers / "FLIVO".
As a historical note (and a sort of quibble I have with the Dragon kit - ); The early Panther D with the old-style commander's cupola actually never saw original factory-applied zimm, despite what that Dragon kit depicts - as these D were produced prior to factory zimm application. A small number of later D received zimm - mostly during re-fit at St. Valentine in late 1943 - these later D had the later Panther cupola and looked almost like A, save for the small letter-box MG port on the glacis.
That aside, you have done a very fine job and I would be happy indeed if my D project comes out that nicely! (But I WILL swap on a later cupola! )
Bob

I'm glad that you've liked it.
Yes, the kit is the Dragon kit with zimm. I've used Dennis Oliver's Viking Summer book as the source and as far as I see in the book, the cuppola is the drum shaped old style one and the MG port is the small letter box style. I know non of the D's got factory applied zimm but this should have been decorated with it in the field. The schurzen also got zimmerit on.It was really hard to find more than one pic about this tank in the net though

By the way I'm sure your model will look as good as mine when it is finished.

This is an excellent looking Panther D with awesome figures. How did you make the ditch removal logs on the engine deck with the brackets to support them?
Thanks.

What about the two Befehlspanzer on pages 66 and 67 of Panzer Tracts 5-1? Drum cupola, Zimmerit, hull MG port, Sternantenne....
