As I going through the posts on the Avenger Hummer there is a link to the International Toy Fair In Nuremburg. If you scrool down to the Italeri part of the page their is a kit of a M-107 sp howitzer. My questions are: Italeri good bad or ugly? And does anyone know if and when the kit will be released (new for 02). Thanks Scott

Have one on hold suppose to be Sept 1 or around their. Dude said my price $22.80 for kit but then you have the Eduard detail set which will be out also. I wonder if you can use the M-110 detail set instead. then the Ammo set for the gun well their goes another $50.00

FYI, Model Expo did carry the Italeri M110A2 (kit#291) for $15 and Revell of Germany M110A2SF (kit#3037) for less than $11. These kits are all basically the same parts with different guns. The Italeri M-107 first came out in the late 80s and has been subsequently re-released as the M110 and other variants.

Relatively good kit if you are into Vietnam/Cold War SP howitzers. I do not believe the M-107 was used for very long and was replaced while in Vietnam. My sources say the 175mm barrel wore out quickly and it was not unusual for an M-107 to be an M-110 the next day with a quick barrel change.

Hey Sabot,
The M110 was taken out of service in Israel somtime After the Lebanon Incursion. The M107 however might still be found with some reserve units. In the 90s the M109 Became the standardized artillery platform for the IDF. Just as a note each 109 is generally seen with a M548 in tow for resupply and a M577 For command and control. Most of the Eduard set can be used on all variants. Just a remindr check out the loading mechanism detail shots on My website.....

I just finished the M110 your talking about. Built out of box except for some add ons.
The hull and blade had a good fit flash was a little heavy but not much of it.
The main gun gave me a problem alot of filling and filing to make it look good.
All in all not bad for oob 18.00 . If you want to put the extra goodies in the hull
will look great . The gun is still the glaring problem.
Anybody got plans to convert this to a 577 like to hear about if you do.

Thanks for the additional info Shiryon. I tend to talk about this type of stuff in the "US" only mode, even though I'm well aware that it is used by our allies. Bad habit I guess.

Scott, if you really don't want to wait or spend $22 on the kit, there is one on eBay going for $7 something with 6 hours left (14:37 PST) M-107. It is in the Testors box. Testors used to rebox all Italeri kits and issue them as their own.

There is also an Italeri M110A2 that is going for $8.

The M110 auction is still going on. As far as US Modern SP howitzers, Italeri is it (and the Revell of Germany reboxes). They make the entire M108-M109 series and several of the M110 variants. If NATO/German SP howitzers is your thing, Revell of Germany makes an outstanding PanzerHaubitze 2000 155mm kit. It comes with a huge aluminum gun barrel as well as a normal plastic one. I got the kit from Model Expo for $15. Some of the Eastern European countries make Russian SP artillery.
