I'm working away on the drive train for the Merit 981 and was wondering how others have approached the engine installation and painting.

It appears to me that it would be best to install it before painting to ensure the rest of the drive train lines up and fits properly, but that always makes it much more difficult for detail painting. Has anyone had a bad experience painting it first and installing it out of sequence?
