There is still the bottle Rubber Black which can be airbrushed, but who knows how long that will hold up? I have seen cans of different brands of spray paint in auto body shops which are the correct color for rubber black. Trouble is, I'm leery of using such paint on plastic models unless I were certain I wouldn't end up with a melted model or some similar disaster! I've heard of stories where people did use such paint, but I haven't located any lately.

I use the Krylon spray paints from Wal Mart all the time, and they work pretty well. Their black isn't quite the shade you want, but they do have a few colors that are useful for modelers: black, white, silver, gray and brown, as well as flat and clear coat.

Color Place flat black, from Wal-Mart. Almost identical to Tamiya NATO Black xf-69. I have been using is for as long as I can remember and never had any problems with it.

Thanks! Hardly ever go to Wal-Mart, but I've bought a few things from them.

UPDATE: Today I went to a Wal-Mart and bought two cans of the blue-labeled flat black spray paint (I couldn't even find a brand name on them) and sprayed a square of plastic, let it dry, and compared it with a wheel I had long ago painted in the Tamiya TS-82 color. Pretty damn close! Should be great for wheels and tires at least.
