Hey guys!

As things seem to be piling up around here, why not add some insult to injury. I bailed early from work on Friday, the back was acting up a little but anyway, I had the time and the kit, so why not! Tamiya's German Motorcycle & Sidecar #32578.

I recently just finished a review for this kit right here on Armorama: https://armorama.kitmaker.net/review/10047

Not sure when this will see the paint but it is on the bench waiting!!!

The Kit:

From what I see, this one is slated for the market in April. Honestly not a bad kit.

With only 47 parts and being a Tammy, things fall together really nice!!

Took just under an hour to get the bike situated

Another 20 minutes or so and the Sidecar was banged out

Nothing better than a quick bang-out job!

The figures were not too bad to assemble. The mold is not the best I have seen on the figs but not the worst either. There are a couple options to depiction too.

There you have it. If you wish to check out the sprue shots and my closer look at the kit itself, stop by the review: https://armorama.kitmaker.net/review/10047

I should try and get this primed up this week at some point and will show some pics as this goes on!!

Thanks for tuning in!!

No P/E spokes?? Are the figures still under-sized? Maybe they're Hitler Jungen! At least maybe now I can toss my Bandai BMW .

Hey Biggle! Yeah, I brought up the spokes being a bit chunky in the review but this still built up to nice little model. The figures look to be up to scale. With any luck I will see how this paints up soon!!

I think the spokes look pretty good considering they are plastic. I've built quite a few of Tamiya's 1/48 kits and none of them have any PE, which is a shame as even just an engine grill here or there would be a big improvement.

I don't usually buy multiples but I may have to pick up a few of these, I'm sure there are plenty of good diorama options.

I was thinking for the scale they did seem to do the trick and you are correct, having one of these to pop into a small dio could really bring things up a notch!!

the whole thing looked quite familliar to me... so I crouched down in the last coner of my stash... and pulled out the 1972 BMW R75 from Tamiya in 1:35... guess why this looked so familliar to me...

So this "new" Set is a real "classic" Tamiya kit, just scaled down. Not bad at all, maybe just a bit simple.
The sprue layout is different though, but apart from the base of the sidecar (2 parts in 1:35, 0ne in 1:48) and the additional 2 figures in the 1:35 version... itīs the same

Pretty good looking little kit, T. I can't wait to see what you do with the plug wires and control cables.

Fabian - Nice find in the stash! Jumping scales I can see how this would get a bit simplified but still a nice offering for the 1/4 scalers I think!

Thanks Bob! Small gauge soldering wire should do the trick when the time comes!!

Biggles - That would be nice to see. Not everyone needs the add-ons but the option is nice to have!!

Thanks Steven!! Outstanding build you had on the 1/35 version!! Lovely detail throughout!!! Thanks for sharing!!

The figures are impressive for the scale.

I thought they weren't too bad either Darren. Neck is a tad thick on the driver but it all kind of blends when installed!! Hope to get a chance to paint a little today!!

The driver must be a weight lifter. My brother had a neck like that.
