Hi all.
I need to make some sandbags. I was wondering if anyone can share dimensions of how tall and wide they should be about. I will be using a 1/35th scale rule, so actual dimensions are not a problem.
Thanks,
Marc

hehe - excellent question Petro - I was wondering the same thing....
Also, a follow up question... if anybody knows the dimensions, would they have been similar between US and German sandbags?
Sorry to hijack the thread there Petro... I'll sit back and listen now :-)

hey fellas
Roadkills site offers a great tip on making sandbags sandbags click on the tips icon then the link to the bags. check it out and it should give you everything you need to make a ton of them
as for sizes, Id do a google search, get the actual dimensions then use a scale calculator to get the scale size you need

Sheperd Paine in itīs Modeling Tanks and... from Kalmbach Books describes a very usefull tip for making sandbags passed to him by a guy named George Rees. He says that you can use Chiclets (yes chewing gum !). The big ones for 1/35 and the small ones for 1/76.
Soak the pieces of gum in water to disolve the hard outer shell, leaving the soft core wich can be textured the same way than the epoxy putty sand bags. Then draped in the disiered position. Once dry (the gum hardens rapidly) you can paint them.
I will give this a try
