I'm toying with the idea of creating a dio or vignette of a German tank as seen through the lens of an Allied tank. However, I have no clue as to how the reticle should look. I did a Google search, but was overwhelmed by the results.

Sounds like it could make a cool shadow box. The first thing you need to do is figure out which allied tank you want to be shooting from since the scope was different on the different tanks. If you want to do a Sherman, then Steven Zaloga's Panther VS Sherman book has pictures of both tanks gunsights.

You could also do it Hollywood style (I'm thinking Kelly's Heroes here); simply looking out a viewport sighted along the barrel. Not totally realistic but high visual interest if you can get the perspective right.
