Hi Gang,
maybe a futile question, but are there any figures of the US Army with PASGT helmet and body armor? I know of the Tamiya Modern Infantry set, but are there any other figures or sets?

Pretty much all of Dragon's ODS-themed figures will work as 1980s Soldiers as well. Just swap out the weapons for M16A1s and you will be good. They all have PAGST body armor and Kevlar helmets, Y-back suspenders, ALICE gear, etc.

These two sets from Verlinden might be useful:

Verlinden Marines Desert Storm

Verlinden US Troops
No body armor on these guys, two have the Y-harness and the third has an H-harness.

The old Tamiya modern infantry set is all 80s all day. Figures are good, accessories are great. And they are cheap and easy to find.

Hi guys thanks for the replies. Will look for them a.s.a.p.
@ Jason Yes your right, I plan to build the scene were the Gama Goat drop the MRE`s on the soldiers on the hill road. Actually started to rebuild the Italeri trailer to a correct M101. Still a lot to consider, were to get the proper MRE boxes?

But no hurry on this now.

Sounds like a great idea for a dio and I am sure you will do a good job. To make it really look realistic you would have to show the Gamma Goat broken down. Heheheh

For early '80s gear and the early MREs, get the old Tamiya Modern US Accessory Set (35141). It includes a paper sheet with first generation MREs in it.
