My current build, just awaiting some final touches and a base to place it on.

Dragon's Challenger 2 (Iraq 2003) kit is very nice kit to build, but not without issues. These are mainly confined to the tracks, so it is indeed fortunate for the side skirts to cover the kits track issues.

I chose Modelmaster Acryl British gulf war sand for the overall finish and used Mig products for weathering. Detail painting was done with Vallejo.

The thermal panels on the front of the turret were scratchbuilt as they were not supplied in the kit and I used lead foil suitable painted for the aircraft recognition panel.

In one of the images you can see one of the main reference image I used.

Apologise for the iPhone in progress pics.

Very nicely done, unfortunately the Dragon kit issues, I think that the tracks are a minor issue compared to the hull and turret issues! If you are interested in knowing more take a look at these,

Simon

Many thanks. I did read those articles you linked and am aware of the issues mentioned.

Construction-wise, the tracks were an issue which is why I focused comments on them.

I suppose you had the short ones as you say luckily they can be hidden behind the side armour, still a shame though as it could have been a great kit.

Simon.

Excellent looking kit you've done up. It's a shame Dragon makes so many errors on what could be a great kit.

Nice Chally Deuce there Sabredog, even though as already mentioned, the kit has some warts, it still looks the beast that it is. Excellent finish.

I am very pleased to have picked up a first place in the small scale armour OOB/Enhanced division at Melbourne Model Expo (nationals) this year.

My earlier Trumpeter Warrior MCV build took second
