He guys!
I did do a site search about the trumpeter M1A1 and I did find some posts on it, turretfix, apu and all.
But what about the detail of the MG's and all, are the dimensions of the barrel good, is there anti-skid on the turretdeck? I know a lot of you guys have build it or have it half-build somewhere...
Please let me know about the detail and stuff, my hobbyshop keeper has it for €13,- and that's even less than the €20,- for an Academy M1A1, so that made me wonder. (cause I know (by experience) what the Academy one is like in detail... )
Thanks!
edit: Okay..couldn't resist it and went ahead and got it! So, if anybody needs any information about the Trumpeter M1A1HA...

Hey Jurgen, it is a good kit, probably the best one, in a tie with the DML M1A1HA. Having built three of the four major players (DML, Tamiya, Trumpter built, Italeri on the bench) I can say that the Trumpter kit is just fine. It NEEDS the turret fix onthe front loaders side, but otherwise it is good, especially for hte price. No academy crud here!

I am, however, looking forward to the new Tamiya M1A2...will have to see/hear/read if it will be worth the price tag though...

Yeah, have been looking at that one too... The Dragon M1A1 OIF was €50,- here (50 USD) so the Tamiya will be in that region I guess... Stilll a bit to much for my kits...

OKAY: So I have a question that I hope someone here could answer for me. IF I needed to replace a tailgate i.e. The engine grill and tail light mount for a M1 Trumpeter kit. Would any of the M1A1 Kits available do it. i.e. Tamiya or Academy ?? If so, Does anyone her have a spare they could send ?? Would be willing to pay for it..

I imagine they are all around the same size and could be interchangeable without too much difficulty. But to tell you the truth, I haven't tried it so I'm unsure if it would work. I know the Tamiya and Academy parts are interchangeable since I've done it.

Which kit are you trying to replace the engine grill for and what's wrong with the old one? It may be salvageable.

Hi Rob:

I have the Trumpetter Kit, The one with the Mine Roller, The kit I have I received from one of our guys here. And the tailgate was missing from the kit. When I got it. He actually gave me two kits one partially finished. (Which I completed) The other one unbuilt but with parts taken out.. Whch I knew about. But figured I could use at some point and time later down the road. So here I am. Trying to figure what to do with this kit.. And know that I have a plan I just need to find a replacement part. Any Ideas ??

I'll have to dig through the parts box, but I think I may have extra one from the old Esci kit. I'll see if it matches up to one of my old unbuilt Tamiya kits. That kit shares the same dimensions as the Trumpter kit. It is not the best detailed piece, but it will look better than a big gaping hole. Besides, the even the Tamiya back grill needs a bit of work back there to really accurize it.
