I already introduced myself at the introduction page, so i directly will drop my question here. For some time now, the Dragon Models 1:72 Early Panther G with Zimmerit (Kit Nr. 7363) plus “Achtung Jabo” crew lays on my workbench, waiting eargely to be build. I do want to do this kit justice, it has some PE, metal tow cables and figures, it's a really nice kit.
Now, i was wondering if there were still early Panther G's with zimmerit active at the (really) end of the war in Germany, is there any photo proof? I did some research myself, but I did mostly find late Panther G's. The kit do comes with a winterscheme option situated in East Prussia '45, but i'm looking for early Panther G's (btw also meaning paintschemes) who fought at the very end in Germany itself.
I'm playing around with the idea to situate the panther somewhere in Germany at the very end of the war, an old workhorse sort of speak.
All the help and expertise is very much appreciated!
Regards,
Ruben

You might want to consider that as tanks took damage bits and pieces were replaced, and not necessarily with parts from the same production time as they were originally built in but whatever could be supplied, or what was in production at the time that particular vehicle was being rebuilt at the factory.

You have a point there. The kit does btw give some options for a late Panther G, for example the gun mantlet.
Oh well.. I'm still interested in early Panther G pictures, in whatever form at the end of the war. At least if there where any active?
Thanks Christopher I really like the site. It's also a good chance to practice my English again, it isn't longer what it used to be..

There were still zimeritted vehicles of all kinds in service at the end of the war. You might try Wehrmacht units rather than SS, as most SS units were re-equipped for the Ardennes Offensive with the latest November/early December production units.
