Hi,

I have got one of these kits on order(and yes I know there is supposed to be one coming from trumpeter) does anybody out there know which particular version of the 66 it represents?

I.e.,

GAZ-66-1 (1964-1968) - the first model with no centralized system for adjusting the air pressure in the tires
GAZ-66A (1964-1968) - with winch
GAZGAZ-66D (1964-1968) - the chassis with power take-off

GAZ-66E (1964-1968) - with shielded electrical
GAZ-66-01 (1968-1985) - the base model with a centralized control system for tire pressure
GAZ-66-02 (1968-1985) - with winch
GAZ-66-03 (1964-1968) - with shielded electrical
GAZ-66-04 (1968-1985) - the chassis with shielded electrical
GAZ-66-05 (1968-1985) - with shielded electrical equipment and a winch
GAZ-66-11 (1985-1996) - upgraded the base model
GAZ-66-12 (1985-1996) - with winch
GAZ-66-14 (1985-1996) - the chassis with shielded electrical equipment and power take-off

No doubt it might tell me in the instructions but I was unable to locate a copy of them on the internet. Hopefully somebody out there knows or has the kit and could very kindly have a look on the instructions?

Thanks in advance,

Paul

Hi paul

I have the command version of the eastern express gaz 66 and im afraid that the badly photocopied 2 page double sided instructions doesn't give much info .
looking at the sprues and what ive tried to build so far ( must admit im waiting for the trumpeter kit to help me finish ) there is a winch included.
the command version is the basic model with a vacum formed sheet to construct the command centre.
I believe that eastern express only produced the standard gaz66 and the air transport version with variations on the both.
The eduard photo etch is pretty good .
Sorry but thats about all I have I search for any images I downloaded when I get chance

Well I downloaded a tech manual I hope once the kit arrives that might serve to help ID the kit better. Bob, thanks for the info I ordered the etch as well and I just got the skp resin wheels so hope to have little problems LOL
