I'm thinking of using a metalizer on rubber tank tracks.
Is it possible? I was thinking of a primer then a base coat then the metalizer
Or should I just go with a metallic paint?
Cheers
Mark

Try it on a spare track. Or better yet, try it on the one you want to use. You can just do it in a small area, and if it doesn't work, no harm done. You can easily hide it.

The rubber band tracks are flexible so the paint the goes on them should be able to flex . Now it they are not going to move it might be okay to paint them with the metallizer , but if you flex them there goes the paint . Plastic car bodies such as Tamiya are painted with lexan paints , but your choice is limited unless the auto parts stores have them in other colors .

Thank you for the reply's. I might just play safe and go for a metallic paint such as XF-84.

Hi Mark
It all depends upon the type of material in the track.
For me I use Model Master Buffing metalizer it bonds really good with Dragons Band type track. I have yet to have it flake off any of the others. It doesn't leave a really heavy coat like most paints, and buffs to a really nice sheen. If you rub to much just re spray.
