First I built this kit earlier this year. The kit is more toy like, being designed to be used with the 1/18th. scale action figures. With a lot of work, and a lot of extra detailing it does build into a very nice replica. I used a lot of nuts removed from the extra add on armor from Dragons Stug III kit.
Some parts had to be scrach built like the Anchor Stakes and Hand wheels.

Wow ...well great job then..but there are enough good kits out there not to be bothered with all the extra work ...
My hat goes off to you...

The reason they are toy like? It's because they closely resemble that. They were once a die-cast collectable available already built in grey or desert yellow. I mean the 1/18 scale gives it away.

I have one from 21st Century from years ago and it cost $99.00.

I figured as much, but if you want a large scale Flak 36 as far as I know it's the only game in town.
If anyone is interested, Sprue Brothers has it.
It's listed under JS International stock # 161701 for $44.99

You've done a great job on it Donald - thanks for posting the pics.

Now, until saturday I never even knew this model existed so, i'm glad to hear some comments on it's quality as I was seriously considering it or the others in the (short) range. The boxing I saw was under the MERIT label...

Yes the box is labeled Merit, but for some reason Sprue Brothers lists it in their kit inventory under JS International.
It does build into a verry nice model, you just have to put some effort into it. Donald

Ps. If you have Windows 8 or higher you should be able to blow the pictures up to a lot bigger size. They were taken and posted at a lot higher resolution than the previous ones posted below here on this Forum Page.
Pps. I am not planning on any other posts of pictures on this subject.

From time to time you can find a 1/16 Verlinden resin kit on eBay.

True there, but my experience with Verlinden you have a lot of clean up, fit problems, and then you still have to scratch build a lot of the parts.
