Dragon kit #6600 shows initial production tiger I on the eastern front with no side skirts, I was wondering if anyone new if that was correct or not? Tamiya makes a initial production kit also, but it shows it with side skirts. Thanks in advance.

The term "initial production Tiger" is not an official German title and it generally means a Tiger without a turret side hatch.

The first 10 sent to Leningrad had no side skirts.
The next 20 or so, sent to Africa, had side skirts.

The Tamiya kit is actually poor in accuracy. They give us the hull roof of an Early Tiger with S-mine positions, but the correct roof would have no S-mines, and many of the tools and cables would be moved around for that reason. The hull is also not accurate.

Thank you, I did not know that the Tamiya kit was not that accurate.
