Hi Gang,
just saw that releases the BTR-ZD in 1/72 scale. I wonder if this vehicle you be made in 1/35 scale from existing model kits/conversions.
Thanks H.-H.

Hello H.H.
Steven Zaloga has done it in 1/72nd scale :
http://www.missing-lynx.com/gallery/small/btrd_szaloga.html
and here's a 1/35th scale one :
http://modelismoymodelistas.blogspot.fr/2012/12/army-btr-dzu-232-esc-135-by-ignat.html
but you have another option

As far as I can tell, Alanger's BTR-D is a re-box of the Eastern Express kit and the included ZU-23-2 is not really worth it if compared to the Trumpeter one (or even the Meng one )...

Hi Frenchy,
thanks! I think replacing the ZU with the Trumpeter kit shouldn`t be the problem. I`ll give it a try.

The model on the Spanish site is a pure gem and way ahead my poor attempt with the EE BTR-D and the Scale ZU23-2.
Hans-Hermann if you start with the Alanger/EE kit, be aware that you have some extra work to do !

Hi all,
I am aware that such early kits from Russian/Eastern Europe are quit challenging. Another problem I bunped is that only a few shops in Germany carry the Alanger or Eastern Express range. But I am still busy with several Grenada projects, so the BTR-ZD is still in my "mind-stash".
H.-H.
P.S. On which version of the BMD is the BTR-ZD based upon?
P.P.S. I will go today to a USAREUR base, so maybe my preference will change after that.:-)) :-))

AFAIK, the BTR-ZD is based on the BMD-1, like the BTR-D series of APC's

BMD-D....stretched version of the BMD-1. It has one more roadwheel and one more return roller per side.
