I was wondering if the Russians still apply a "whitewash" camo to their more recent AFVs ?
Building a Meng T-90A and was thinking of doing it with a winter-camo (hairspray style) but I haven't found any refs. of use.
Any help/info/input is much appreciated!

Thankx guys !
Cheers

No, winter "whitewash" camouflage is not provided for modern Russian AFVs. The official rules of AFV painting write about only 10 colours, and white colour is absent in this list.

Moreover, in April 2013 new provisional rules were issued, which state, that Russian tanks will not be painted in camouflage - only in one colour overall vehicle. There are three colours only (depending on the theater of operation) - light green, dark green, khaki.

At present days the "winter camouflage" for T-90 means the following:

Maybe, "whitewash" painting on Russian AFVs could to be used in some real conflicts, when any rules lose their value...

Hi Eduard, so no more multicolored camo from Russia? Have those changes already been implemented or are yet to be?

Kind regards, Sven.

Sven, I write again - those rules are transient. New schemes had to be designed to August 2013. Existing AFVs will be repainted gradually, during or after their repair.

On the resent parade in Moscow all vehicles had a unified Green/Oliv Drab kinda paint job.
The whole parade is on Utube, interesting to watch.

Cheers
